Imagine you’re a superhero who has the power to heal his own wounds within seconds. We as humans already have a brain that can change its physical structure as a result of learning. When we learn something new or memorize information, the brain forms new connections between neurons, altering its physical layout. It modifies its connections and reorganizes itself.

Now imagine that power, but in a piece of metal. Sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie? Well, it’s not. It’s real.

Scientists at Texas A&M University recently witnessed a piece of platinum, just 40 nanometers thick (that’s thinner than a human hair!), repairing itself. Yes, you read that right. A piece of metal healed itself right before their very eyes!
