Let us look at life when we first began our formal education.

We heard so many things before we started school in grade 1. We had spent 6 years being told how excited we should to go to school. When we asked why we had to go to school, we learned we should have greater dreams and goalss compared to anything that we had experienced up to this point. Then we started school and with the assistance of parents and teachers, we steadily progressed and began acquiring basic life skills we all need.

Thin of one of the first things we learned, the alphabet. Strange overwhelming figures were placed before us. We never had to use our memory like this before. We practiced and wrote each letter repeatedly and after speaking the sounds out loud we learned the ABCs. Then we were asked to pull out certain letters from that alphabet, mix them, and put them in special arrangements to form words. One step at a time! How extraordinary we thought. How exciting. Is this what learning is all about? Wow!

We then used those words and formed sentences, paragraphs, and usually, by the end of the first year, we were able to write our first story. We practiced and…
