The Wishbone the Jawbone and the Backbone
Wishbone — keeps you going after things
Jawbone — helps you ask the questions that are necessary in finding them
Backbone — keeps you at it until you get them

There is an old country axiom that says;

Success in life comes not from holding a good hand, but in playing a poor hand well.

Kenny Rogers made that real with his song — The Gambler — when he sings the oft quoted words — “Cause every hand’s a winner …… And every hand’s a loser….”

Use what is given you and envision the best.

This is your ticket to forever. You cannot rise above your vision. The man who pushes a cart down the alley picking up bottles and stray bits of things will remain pushing the bundle as long as he believes he has no talent for anything else

To learn to believe, we first must take stock of our abilities.

If we are earnest about making the most of our own abilities, make sure we find out what talents we possess, what assets we have, what are our strong points — we also must decide what we actually want and from that if our ambition is feasible — is it a practical…
