Very few people can honestly say they are not procrastinators. Putting off till tomorrow is really an escape from living present moments as fully as possible.
Next time you say you will get it done but know you will not, bring these words to mind. They were written by the great Ralph Waldo Emerson and stand to be an antidote to deferring or procrastinating life events.

Ways to Deal with PROCRASTINATION

1 Decide to live 5 minutes at a time. This is a variation of living in day tight compartments that has been often written about. Instead of thinking of a task or tasks in long range terms, think about now, and try to use up a 5 min period doing what you want, refusing to put off anything that would bring about satisfaction.

2 Sit down and get started on something you have been postponing. Begin a letter or a book or that task you have been thinking about for so long. You will find that much of what you are putting off is unnecessary since you will very likely find the job enjoyable. Simply beginning will help you to eliminate anxiety about the whole project.
